• Description: Designed for RCICs holding or pursuing the RCIC-IRB class of licence, this course covers the fundamental skills needed for representing clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB). It focuses on legal arguments, standards of proof, and hearing preparation.

Learning Objectives:

•  Distinguish the jurisdiction, legal principles, rules, and standards of proof used in the Divisions of the IRB.
•  Identify all legal and factual elements of the client's case and construct a legal argument that supports the client's position.
•  Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony by explaining hearing room procedures and anticipated questions.
